Oral B Pro Expert Premium Gum Protection Review
I brush my teeth twice a day. I have done so ever since I was a child, prompted by one memorable incident when my front tooth went black and fell out as I was playing in the garden. Luckily it was only a baby tooth, but my parents vowed from that point forward that my three siblings and I were going to brush our teeth twice daily, every morning and night, and floss regularly (although that is proving to be quite impossible these days now that I am a mother myself, to two boys under three years old!).
I have passed on this mantra to my two boys, and we all brush our teeth together, every morning and night because I want to minimise any possible teeth or gum health issues later on in life.
When I got pregnant the first time, I received a huge lecture from my dentist on the importance of healthy gums during pregnancy, as teeth and gums tend to be weaker, due to the immune system being suppressed, so as not to reject the baby growing inside your tummy. I ended up having one tooth filling that visit (without x-rays of course!)
When I got pregnant again, 6 months after giving birth, my dentist commended me on my healthy teeth, but reiterated how important it was for me to look after my gums, as many people don’t realise that most people will get gum health issues at some point in their lives and it’s the biggest cause of tooth loss. For women especially during pregnancy, paying attention to gum health is important as research shows that more than 1 in 2 women will develop gum problems during pregnancy, such as swollen bleeding gums, sensitive gums, and inflamed gums.
So, when I was given the opportunity to become part of the Oral B and Britmum’s Linky and review the Oral B Pro Expert Toothpaste, I jumped at the chance. I’m not pregnant right now, but I have a few problems with itchy gums and blisters (probably due to stress) and I wanted to try a toothpaste that would target my gums as well as my teeth.
What does Oral B Pro Expert Premium Gum Protection Toothpaste Do?
- Clinically proven to help prevent and reduce gum problems in just four weeks
- Helps prevent causes of gum problems
- Helps to slow bacterial growth to protect against gum problems
- Helps to target signs of gingivitis and early stages of gingivitis
- Reduces plaque
- Fights tartar
After using Oral B Pro Expert Premium Gum Protection for a few weeks, I have definitely started to notice a difference in the strength of my gums. They are not itchy and red anymore and they certainly do feel less tender. My teeth feel stronger and whiter too. The grittiness of the toothpaste reassures me that my gums and teeth are actually being cleaned. Personally, I think it’s the best toothpaste for gum disease.
