Amazon Black Friday! What’s on your wish list?

Amazon Black Friday - What's in your gift list motherhooddiaries

When you pair the words ‘Black’ and ‘Friday’ together, they spark a worldwide frenzy where supermarket retailers literally throw sales at buyers and we fall into a rage to grab the best product deals before they disappear. Today is officially the start of Black Friday (originally known as ‘The day after Thanksgiving’. However, a lot of retailers start early and have slashed their prices in the lead up to this fine day.

Amazon Black Friday

Amazon is no exception and Amazon Black Friday actually started last Friday, on 17th November, triggering Amazon’s 10-day Black Friday sale, with literally thousands of prices massively slashed across all categories. Being a die-hard Amazon Prime fan, Black Friday is the perfect excuse to shop early and save money, so I started by creating a Wish/Gift List on Amazon of some awesome gift ideas for the whole family. Creating a wish list, to begin with, is also a great way of organising your Christmas presents, so you don’t inadvertently leave anyone out. And, if you make your wish list public and share it around, then you can hint to your friends and family the gifts you would be interested in receiving for Christmas too.

Amazon Gift List

It’s vital that no one is forgotten about in the family and so I concentrated on looking for items that the whole family could enjoy, like the Amazon Alexa Echo Dot and The New Kindle Fire (well, the kids can mostly enjoy that gift…)

I also found some lovely looking boots and decided to keep that present all to myself…

I could hardly contain my excitement when the products arrived at our house and tore open the familiar Amazon packaging to find the new Alexa Amazon Echo Dot (2nd generation)in black and the All-New Fire HD 7 Kids Edition Tablet, which I know is going to make the kids go crazy.

The entire family has already bugged Alexa in the short few hours we have had her. So far, we have asked her to do the following:

  • Tell us a joke
  • Tell us a story
  • Play a song on our Spotify playlist
  • Tell us about the weather
  • Tell us the news
  • Purchase another gift on Amazon

Alexa has now firmly become a member of our family and she’ll be here to stay for as long as she can bear my boys’ incessant demands.

The boys haven’t seen the Kindle Fire yet, as we’re saving this mother of a gift for Christmas, where they will have to learn to share the fun. The good thing is that each child can have their own profile, which is fully controllable by the parent and blocks out all the ‘nasties’ of the internet world. You can set anything related to parental controls on the Kindle, including how long each child is allowed on the device. AND, the Kindle Fire is well known for its vast library of educational content, so don’t feel too guilty about the kids having some screen time over Christmas.

You can enjoy the All-New Fire HD 7 Kids Edition Tablet on sale during Black Friday here.

There are thousands upon thousands of deals for Amazon Black Friday so I would thoroughly recommend taking a look and getting your Christmas shopping done early too. I have found literally everything I need for every family member and friend who will be receiving a gift from us this Christmas – and we saved a lot of money in the long run.

Let the Black Friday fun begin!
